Wairaki School Visit

On 7th March 2012 we had all te year 6 pupils from Waraki School visit. The children started the morning off in the old school house where we had four dress up (in photo) in period costume. They then had a full Powhiri

(Maori Welcome) with Okains Bay school followed by morning tea. There were several activities with a maori flavour for the children to do as well as a treasure find for atifacts around the museum before lunch and then colonial activites after lunch. It was a wonderful day considering the weather wasn’t very kind to us.

The children were wonderful and participated in everything we offered with no complaints. Their behaviour needs to be completmented as they did both their teachers and  parents proud.

Thank you all for the wonderful day we had together. (and thank you to the parents who gave us permission to use this photo).
